Camera resolution not sticking

Checking if anyone else has a problem of the camera resolution setting not sticking around.

I set the normal camera mode to 5MP, but I found that the resolution was dropping back down to 640x480 every now and then.

After some trial and error, it seems that when the camera app is killed, whatever resolution the camera is set to at the time becomes the default resolution.

That is, say I set the single shot mode to 5MP. I take pictures, then exit the camera. If I relaunch the camera, the single shot mode is still set to 5MP.

Now, I switch to selfshot mode, which has a resolution of 0.3MP. I then kill the camera app. When the camera is relaunched, single shot mode is set to 0.3MP.

The past couple of times i didn't notice the setting had changed and was taking low resolution pics all day. Ugh.

I fixed this problem, but forgot how. Try checking through all the settings on the camera app. There is one setting that overrides the camera resolution, but I forgot how to access it. I don't have an Epic on my atm, but It'll be home soon.

When you "exit" are you killing it via task manager or hitting the backup button thingy on the phone or Menu > exit? (Not sure if Menu > Exit exists). I haven't played with this myself yet but when you abruptly kill an app in XP, even if you save your settings, more often than not it will default to the settings as when you first opened it.

Well, to reproduce the problem I was killing the app via task manager (or it was autokilled by advanced task killer).

I couldn't find anything in the camera settings to make my resolution "sticky". But I guess the easiest workaround is to have ATK ignore the camera app, and for me not to kill it in the task manager.

I have had the same issues. One other thing that annoys me is when I have a low battery, it won't allow me to take any pics. Any way of getting around this?
I could do it on my Pre and thing the Epic is such a superior phone, it would be odd if I couldn't.
