How many are experiencing camera shutter lag? On my device its pretty bad in low light conditions. Pretty sure its a known issue, as a few reviews discuss. Any rumors on an update to fix? I have contacted HTC support and asked if there is an update coming. Will keep everyone updated. If there is no update i will have to return. Love the phone otherwise, but I purchased for top notch camera and dont find this type of lag ok.

Took a lot of photos yesterday night and never noticed the shutter lag. Are you using a different mode or camera app?

I do see some shutter lag in the camera, it's not as fast in snapping a picture like Pixel, S8 or iPhone 7 plus. Keep HDR to auto in all of them. Great pics but not the quickest shooter.

Will not have my phone in my hands for a few more days hopefully the shutter is as good as most reviewers are reporting it to be.

Yeah I've noticed that there's only lag when it's in low-light circumstances. I think it's because of the HDR Boost mechanism. If it's not determined to be 'low-light,' the shutter is instantaneous. It doesn't bother me though, especially since the results are quite nice.

Just got my phone yesterday and updated it to the latest version. I took some pictures at night and there is a 2 second lag from when I press the snap button till it actually takes the pic.

Agreed. Results are very nice. This was taken at 3am.

I am having both lag issues and focus issues. Both are not as good as my just sold s7 edge. When the phone focusing as I intend, the photos are quite good. The lag is disappointing. I was hoping for the best camera. To me this is the failure of reviews like DxoMark: the lab testing is not quite my own real world use case. I am a hiker and take lots of nature photography and macros on the trail. The U11 this weekend struggled to focus on what i was intending, and I did notice lag, sadly.

I do similar, surprised you don't carry an actual camera with you. Get a zoom lens and photograph wild life, especially stuff in the trees.

Got nothing when I called htc. Said they were not aware of issue. Article on Xda forum said fixes are coming. After a lot on messing around, phone snappy and quick, even without optimal light. Only slow in very low light.

I will say that shutter and focus are slower than my samsung and not as good as identifying the focal point. When I have enough time on a non-moving subject the photos are brilliant. I am going to pick up an s8+ to compare.

Now that I have used my U11 for quite some time along with my S8, I can conclude the U11 has shutter and focus lag when compared to S8. S8 is super quick in taking photos!

The camera app received update. The lag opening camera app that occasionally happened hasn't happened since. anyone else notice this?

I haven't received an update yet. What version are you running. I'm on 9.20.933505.

I am getting the lag almost every time. I start the camera and I have to wait for it to settle down and let me click a photo as it doesn't respond for a while. Once it does, works fine after that.
