camera use hints?

Does anyone have any tricks to keep from getting blurry pictures? I love the phone but need to figure out a trick to at least get clear shots? Tried taking about 8 pics at my sons preschool party and only two werent ridiculoudly blurry. Any helpful hints would be appreciated.

You pretty much need one of two things............Plenty of light, or some sort of tripod in the absence of good light.

I really thought his classroom had plenty of light and two pics were really clear....i guess 25% isnt bad?

Make sure you touch the screen to focus before taking a pic. It can sometimes make a big difference.

I hate having to manually focus, it makes getting those spontaneous shots much more difficult than on my DX.
Manual focus does indeed help, but you can get away with not focusing if you have a steady hand.
Hopefully when vignette gets fixed manual focus won't be necessary.

I'm rarely ever able to get the manual focus box to turn green.

It appears to only work when the scn setting is on auto.

Another thing I dislike is having to set the camera up all the time, it doesn't hold the previous settings.

Don't forget to select the proper lighting setting if you are indoors.

Low light and distance are nit good combination either.

And touch the subject to auto focus. If there is an infinity setting try that. Haven't looked for it yet but the Xoom has one and takes super clear fast pics set to the infinity setting.

Yeah. Like I thought earlier there are no auto focus settings. Maybe some update will have them.

The true tip is wait for an update....indoor pics are hard to get without a surgeons steady hand. Hopefully they can make the camera function a bit better withbsoftware updates.....i can get great photos, even indoors, butbsometimes it takes a lot more effort than it should.

I left mine set on auto with no flash and pictures come out great night or day. I normally let it auto focus which takes a second or two, but I did not know touching the screen would make it focus. It does pretty good for macro shots too. My first few shots came out blurry till I got use to how the camera focused and it was fine. I did not think my phone would take clear night shots of Christmas lights at all.
