Yeah definitely intentional, dont recall sansung doing this in the past , the most would happen is your device security be compromised,Samsung pay,health,pass wouldn't work and i think bank apps.Considering Samsung has a pop up warning you it will disable the cameras it seems Samsung did it intentionally. They have done it in the past on other phones.
Sony claimed in the past unlocking the boot loader messed with the DRM security keys which negatively impacts advanced camera features like noise reduction.
Until we get confirmation from Samsung I'm going to guess this has to do with security keys necessary for the under display camera to work.
