Hopefully Ecrispy's point won't get back handed by a simple "If you don't like them than don't use them," reply. It's easy to throw that out there when you have no idea what the person's situation is.
For example, where I am located Verizon is the only carrier that offers a functional network. Both AT&T and Sprint get about 1kbps down here. In a perfect world, I could buy an unlocked phone from Google Play and go to a contract free carrier but unfortunately that isn't an option for me here.
