Can a Samsung S5 SM G900A that is "unlocked" running Android version 5.1.1 be rooted?

Ok, so I know a little bit about rooting because I have a Captivate that I rooted a few years ago. Now have this S5 that I'd like to root, but not able to find anything "definite" on the net about whether or not it can be safely rooted do to the fact that my carrier is AT&T and that it is running Lollipop 5.1.1. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks...

Welcome to the forums. I can't say for 100% certainty...but AT&T and Verizon lock down phones pretty well. I would say your chances of rooting the S5 is slim at best.
