Can any USB type-c cable be used with HTC 10

I remember reading something about not using HTC branded type c cables because it mess with the battery is that still the case or can any USB type-c cable be used. I'm also curious if maybe if I was reading it wrong and it was just the charger that you needed to use but I'm unsure because I have 2 wall Chargers and one cable and I really need another one but no where around me sells HTC USB type-c cables.

I claimed the 100 dollar HTC offer and used it for cables and headphones. Maybe you should try HTC and get a cable and charger there
