Can Apps be installed to SD cards yet on Android devices?

I have been thinking about making the switch to android from ios. One thing i did not like about android in the past was the inability to use the additional SD memory for many things like apps. I even read that the music player wouldnt natively read music from the SD card or anything. So ive been eyeing up the latest Samsung devices. I always fill up 16gb pretty quick and if you can really utilize that extra storage now I may take the plunge. Thanks Android Community

You can't put apps on the SD card. Media like music can be, but the limitation you describe may just be the stock player.

Can google play movies be downloaded to sd card at least?

Can on mine. But I am on Jelly Bean until Google quits screwing up sd cards like kit-kat does. Also I use MX Player instead of Google zip Player.
