Can I get some help with a flight mode problem?

Flight mode problem

Every evening I set my phone to flight mode to avoid unnecessary notifications disturbing my beauty sleep. However some mornings wifi and bluetooth are switched on, and i've received emails and facebook notifications,despite flight mode still enabled ??? Could someone help with this and offer some suggestions ? I cant just turn my phone off as i use it for my early morning alarm
