Can I get some help with a Whatsapp back-up question ?

Hi,

If I back-up my whatsapp conversations on an android (which I know how to do just fine), then wipe my phone and re-install whatsapp once restore is complete, will my back-up already be there?* I don't use an SD card or any other internal file to store them - I assume the file backs up automatically to cloud?

Also, if I delete whatsapp and re-install, will all old conversations re-appear automatically?
