Can I have Ubuntu Is on my LGOG?

Can I run Ubuntu on my Lgog? It looks amazing and I would like to have it! And does Google play work on it or what?

It is a different OS than Android, so I wouldn't think that anything from the Google Play would work with Ubuntu...

I am not sure how hard it would be to port Android Apps to Ubuntu, but if it is easy, it could lead to pretty rapid growth of available apps if it catches on.
