Can I put a S4 smartphone into a flatbed scanner?

Yes I want to scan my phone. Put my phone into scanner and scan it. Is it safe to do so?

To be on the safe side...take a screenshot
And actually screenshot is faster than scanning...just screen shot and email to yourself/someone or upload directly to a site using their app
Also the scanning light may reflect on the screen and might not come clear on the PC

Or you can just take a screenshot, and then transfer the photos to your computer.

Did the OP say if he could get the screen shot to work?

The bright light from the scanner would likely wash out the image and the light will reflect off the glass causing a big white blob on the scan...sorta like taking a flash picture through a glass window.

Funny timing. Today I needed a document sent to me and all the sender was able to do was FAX it.

Don't feel bad acsurfer. The only way any of us got knowledgable was trial and error. Keep playing with your new phone and try to have fun. You'll be good to go in no time.

Also, if you set up a google plus account and turn on photo instant upload, all photos you take or have on your phone will instant upload to your acct in the cloud. Its a handy feature.

Dont be shy, if you have any other questions I (and I'm sure others) will be happy to offer advice.

How to turn on photo instant upload?

Is a google plus account a google drive? Any differences? (I have heard of the terms google plus account and google drive, but I never use it before)

When you open the google plus app for the first time it will give you the option. Otherwise open the app hit the menu button (to the left of the home button) select settings, camera and photos, then auto backup.

Google gives you 15 gb of cloud storage, used however you want between gmail, google plus, and google drive.

Google plus is a social networking app like facebook, but not. Google drive is a cloud based file saving system.

Can I put a S4 smartphone into a flatbed scanner? Will the scanner rays harm the smartphone/sensors?

If you already have an email account set up on your phone, just take a screenshot (by pressing the power and home buttons at the same time) and send the screenshots to yourself via email.

Simple and easy!

There is no need at all for half of the comments on this thread. If you cant find it in yourself to post something helpful, please refrain from posting. It is this kind of attitude that would make new users to the site not want to come back. No one deserves to be belittled and made fun of for seeking advice. I have to say, I am a little disappointed in many of you. I am going back through and cleaning out all of the unhelpful posts.

OP, I am sorry for the way you have been treated here today. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask them. It may not seem like it in the responses to this thread, but we really do have a ton of people who are willing to offer help.

Way to tell them, This site is for helping people not making fun.

I have solved my problem by holding the home button and power button to take screenshots. Thanks everyone.

Is there some apps or maybe somewhere in the phone that show a list down of all the apps of the phone?

Sure. Swipe down from the top of the screen and select the gear icon. Tap the more tab, then select application manager.

I saw many apps inside gear icon>more tab>application manager>downloaded. Does it mean that these icons are downloaded by my cellphone provider? I just bought the phone and I did not download any app yet.

How do I see which apps are from android, which apps are from samsung, which apps are from my cellphone provider?

In gear icon>more tab>application manager>running, how do I know which apps are started to run by the phone and which apps are run by me? Did I forgot to stop running some apps or should these apps be running at all times?
For example I see over 20 app under running such as Maps, Samsung WatchOn, Weather Widget, McAfee Security, Filter.
See all my apps under "running":

In gear icon>more tab>application manager>all, i click once to select the app. Some of the app have a "Uninstall" button, some of the apps have a "Disable" button, what is the difference of these apps? Why are they different?

Thanks

Hi.. The ones in the download list some are put on when you buy the phone and also the ones you download.
The running list is all apps that are running on your phone or in the background.
You can disable any app you want by just click it and hitting disable like for example if you don't use google play you can disable it.
You can also stop apps from running.
You can also add a widget on you home screen that called task manager (comes with the phone) and click on that and stop apps that are running.
Hope this was easy to understand sorry if it was not any question just post back. :)

Actually, there's a "palm swipe to capture" option.
Thanks for this, I had no idea you could do that. Though it didn't work every time I tried it I think it's a pretty cool innovation.
So did anyone try to scan their phone on a scanner yet? I do not have one but I'm curious to see the printed out result.

Ive scanned a few phones, I cut my own screen protectors on my vinyl cutter and the scan provides a perfect start for a template.
