Can I recover data from phone, backup is bad

[Android Central Question]

My MotoZ2 Play Android 8 suddenly failed "Unfortunately The Process Com.android.phone Has Stopped" I couldn't find a solution other than factory reset. The reset worked but my backup was corrupt and I only got a partial restore. The phone is stuck in this partial restore mode - I have a few apps that work, phone and SMS. Is there a tool that I can use to recover photos or other data from the phone before I start over and load everything from scratch?

Welcome to Android Central! Unfortunately, no. The reset and restore would've overwritten any prior data. Was anything saved to an SD card?
