Question Can I set sound notification for some apps but no-sound icon notification for some other apps?

There are apps that I need to quickly respond. There are apps that I don't need to attend to quickly. Can I do them separately?

What device do you have, and what version of Android is it running?

Sure -- go to Settings>Apps, select the app in question, then Notifications, and then tap the words of the notification channel (e.g. "Incoming messages"). Don't tap the toggle switch -- it's important to tap the words instead. On the next screen, if you want the app to give you an icon notification but no sound, select Silent.

Yes you can. B. Diddy's suggestion will work but you need to know the device like Laura mentioned.
