Can I trade in S7 Edge with pink line issue to upgrade on AT&T Next

My Galaxy S7 Edge has developed to pink line issue that is somewhat common with this phone. Some sites say that in order to trade in and upgrade, there can be no damage to the screen while others say that since Samsung has admitted to the problem, it will be accepted. If anyone has any experience with this please share.
