Voice Memo as a Notification

I have taken the plunge from the BlackBerry world into the Nexus 5X. BB was easy to record a voice memo and tag it to a ringtone for a contact or to a notification (email).

I have a voice recorder on my N5X and can set a voice memo as a ringtone but am unable to figure out how to set it as notification. It shows up in the list but is a sound (default sound).

Thank you for any suggestions.

Is your voice memo in one of the usable file formats? Is the sound file placed in the Notifications folder?

This page should be helpful.

Alarms, Notifications, and Ringtones all have separate folders so place them accordingly.

Hope this helps!

Made the switch out of Crackberry land a handful of years ago....haven't looked back :)
