Can I Use Galaxy Buds as the Microphone for Video?

I'm shooting a lot of instructional video, and the native video camera (N10+) doesn't seem to be able to use my Galaxy Buds as a mic for the audio. I need to be able to put my buds in and record so I can be outside/far away from the phone, etc and have people still be able to hear me talk. Why is this not inherently baked into the phone? Have messed with all settings, and there's some video app that people say should do it, but that one hasn't been updated since 2015.

What am I missing?

This phone does have a directional microphone built in. It detects the speakers distance and adjusts automatically. This hasn't been tested by me but I have watched YouTube video demonstrations and it seems to work great.

Didn't work great on my recent video where I was about 25 feet from the camera in a breeze. So now I have to redo that one. Hopefully with a solution for using Buds as a mic. I can't believe there isn't a native option. "Hey, your Buds are connected. Do you want to use the audio from those on this video?" Step it up, Samsung.

It sounds like UI 2.5 fixes this in the Pro Video mode--supposedly you can choose to use Buds as a mic for audio.

Hurry up and get here!
