Can my data still be retrieved?

I was looking through some apps to free up space and at a whim--and unintentionally--deleted something important and I only had backed up half of it. It was "Clear All Data". Yes, pure stupidity. But is it possible to get it back? If so, how? What are the options? I think this works on laptops. Even it's gone in the Recycle Bin, your stuff can still be retrieved, and viola! But can the same be done to my phone, or nah? I should just let it go?

What type of phone do you have? My Samsung has a folder with downloads which may retain a copy after the downloaded file is removed from its home folder. If you don't have a Samsung, look around for system files that may store your download history.

Android has no recycle bin - deleted is deleted. Depending on the type of data, it may be possible, but the phone would have to be rooted to start. Then, if it's a file there are apps like DiskDigger undelete that can undelete files. If it's stored in a database, you'll need a SQLite editor and you'll have to learn SQL (or bring it to a shop that can do that kind of work).

I don't think SQL can help, and they weren't exactly files files. It was actually on Samsung Notes--just notes. Clear Data removes everything that includes accounts, settings, databases permanently--as it had said. I guess, it's gone.
