Can only get messages over LTE not bluetooth

[Android Central Question]

As the title says. When I am connect to my galaxy S8 via bluetooth I dont get any text messages. I get all other notifications just not messages. But as soon as I turn on LTE and bluetooth off I get every message that wasnt recieved since it last connected. Please help

Yea sorry I'm dumb. I am using a Gear S3 Classic and If LTE is off then I get no messages over bluetooth. But the other way around it works fine but, my battery only lasts a day

Or, it could be an issue on the phone side.

Are you averse to resetting the watch to see if re-pairing it will resolve the issues?

I actually just reset it and it fixed nothing.

Sorry, I'll have to defer to the Gear S3 owners for further help. I have a smartwatch but it's an Android Wear one...

In the gear app go to settings and make sure you have gear connection turned on. This will allow all notifications that come to your phone to go to your watch when Bluetooth is connected.

Check your notification settings in the Samsung Gear App. Make sure you have all the apps you want to receive notifications from enabled. Also, the Gear will not display text messages and emails unless the built-in apps are set as default on the phone.
