Can Project Fi data usage always be restricted to wi-fi ?

Project Fi makes sense for my purse only if i can avoid data charges completely while being able to browse the internet and use e mail whenever wi-fi is available.

Yes, you can easily turn off cellular data by doing a 2 finger swipe down to bring up the quick settings menu and selecting the "Fi Network" setting.

just stay connected to a WiFi network and do that and you'll be good!

Or just go to settings -> celluar data -> turn off cellular data
