What kind of messages? Do they put plus signs in the notification area? If that's what you're talking about try downloading Addons Detector from the Play store.

You probably downloaded a spammy app. You will probably have to delete the offending app.

I think it is a plus sign..I will look out when it happens again..I do not think it is a spammy app.this never happen to me before..thanks for the answers.

Try posting a screenshot of the icon you're talking about. It may help pinpoint the problem.

I'm getting that '+' in the notification bar now, too. Ads to meet Singles or lottery winner, etc. I never had that on my Fascinate. After reading the suggestion to get Addons Detector, I tapped the Play Store icon and my screen went dark! I had to reset power in order to access the Store.

I have never had or heard of anyone having a problem with Addons Detector like you're describing. Maybe you can contact the developer?

I guarantee it is a spammy app/malware/virus, because Android/Touchwiz/Play Store is not doing it.

Kinda sounds like you think you have a problem with the Play Store. You don't. The notification is just a shortcut/link to a product in the store, generated by some other spam app that you have downloaded,

Do you remember installing an app right before this started? You could try uninstalling your recently installed apps. As others have said, it sounds like a spammy app.

It could also be a recently updated app; I had an app once update to push ads to my notification bar. You could check the user ratings left for your apps on the Play store, as others likely will have noted the spam issues. That's how I discovered which app was updated to spam me with ad notifications.
