Can the presence of an SD card reduce battery life?

Okay, so I got my 200gb SD card/battery promo package around 2 weeks ago. It seems to coincide with my observation of 'slightly' lower battery life. My observations are strictly anecdotal, as I just noticed that when at work between 8am and noon I've been seeing more idle drain. This is the time of the day when I use the phone the least.

Right now the SD Card has only photos/videos pointed at it. I've yet to MOVE applications to the SD Card.

So has anyone else seen a drop in battery life that may or may not coincide with the addition of the SD card?

It's possible if there is a file that is corrupted or that the OS is having trouble reading. The OS will keep trying to read it and keep the device awake and processing, thus draining the battery.

I have all my pics; saved wallpaper (Zedge); music; games on my SD card and see no battery difference at all. :)
