can you Chromecast youtube live events?

I downloaded cheapcast and it works with YouTube and google play music well. But it doesn't cast live events such as a podcast. I tested other apps you can share or cast YouTube videos with such as iMedia HD or Floating Video GPlayer. Those don't work with live events either. So I'm wondering if Chromecast can cast live events to my TV or does it fail here also?

I'd love to be able to watch podcasts on home TV instead of tablet or laptop.

some people have sucessfully casted Live Youtube feeds from their PCs via the Chrome Browser.

is there a way to do it with just a smartphone and a Chromecast?

I want to watch YouTube live streaming videos but Chromecast does not permit it.
