I have a movie in .m4v format and I would like to play it on my Tab. I used DVDFab to create it. I think I understand that I have to use a third party player to play it.

My question... How do you get the file onto your Tab??

When I do it using the cable, it gets all the way to the end of the process then it says my Tab stopped responding and it can't play .m4v files anyway. Frustrating.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

All of the movies I have converted are m4v and play in the stock player just fine. Used Kies (on a Mac) to transfer via USB without any issues

I was having the same problem since I have a mac but what worked for ME was downloading handbrake (free file conversion software) tweaked the conversion settings and converted the files from m4v to mp4, then transferring the movies to my tab via samsung kies for mac and I have no issues. Sounds like a lot but it really isn't, it's quite easy once you know what to do. Let me know if I can be of further assistance :)

Re: Why can I use dropbox to send a .m4v file to my Galaxy S3, and my Galaxy Tab 4...?

Hello,
Why can I use dropbox to send a .m4v file to my Galaxy S3, and my Galaxy Tab 4, and then, with no internet connection, it plays on the phone, but on the Tab 4, it wants the internet. Why?
What's lacking on the Tab 4?
Thank you.

This is a really, really old thread but I happen to get the message about your post.

1) Have you allowed the file to completely download into Dropbox on your device?
2) Are you using a 3rd party player like MX Player Pro? (my favorite player)

The 3rd party player may be necessary to play it? Are you getting any kind of error when you try to play the file?
