Can you watch HD videos?

When watching videos that I have the button in the lower right corner to change the resolution, it won't allow me to select anything. The various options (360p, 480, 720, 1080) come up for a split second and then go away. This happens on every video no matter where I am trying to play it from.

Any ideas what's going on?

The Xoom can play HD content just fine, but usually you'll want to transcode the file with DVDCatalyst or something similar.

I know it's supposed to be able to play HD content just fine. But in practice, it will not allow me to select the 720p or 1080p option from youtube or similar video player.

Thats the same on my Evo... Briefly pops up then goes away. Its a shame they didn't fix that on the latest version of Flash.

OHHHH I didn't realize you were talking about YouTube. Yeah I just tried to change the resolution through the browser and had the same problem. Honestly though it would play like crap. Flash is still inefficient and computationally expensive and HD flash video is choppy. Why not just use the YouTube app? There's an "HD" option for videos and while I don't know if it does 1080p itooks great.

Change your youtube settings from your youtube account to "party in highest resolution when in silkscreen". Thats how I got HD on my xoom via yt in the browser. The app will also party in HD if the resolution is available and you select "hq".
