Canadian Nexus 4 Ordered On December 3rd - Order Status and Tracking

I hope you're right. When I ordered my Nexus 7 from Google Play, it shipped from the US and it took 7 calendar days/5 business days for it to arrive. I live in Halifax and you live in Toronto; you might get better than 5 business days.

I'm still not sure why they ship stuff from the US. I dont even want to think of the possibility i will have to pay extra TAX because it's coming from the US. It happens to me from time to time when i actually order stuff from the US but this order was made in and from Canada so i hope for them that no TAX will be needed. Otherwise i will be VERY upset!

Whatever was paid on your cc is what is gonna come out. They already taxed you.

My order also says ground shipping. So if coming from the states how long would that take. I think they have a batch in Canada somewhere. Once they have all the orders placed in the states they will probably ship them all at once to a Canadian location. Then ship them to us then.

Ye i know, this is why i said that the order was made in Canada so it shouldnt be taxed again. Just hope Canada Customs will think the same way

I have heard that N4 has a glass back which can easily break if the phone falls down...do you guys know about anything that can help to prevent that?

It definitely does have a glass back - check out the thread in this same forum "Have you cracked your Nexus 4 yet?"

To prevent it, there are case options, but the safest method is to never drop it!

I'm guessing, and it's only a guess that if it ships from Canada it probably will ship from the Toronto (GTA) area as a lot of other big companies in Canada ship from here.

The Google Canada help Page says it ships with 2 day UPS shipping. Hope that's true!

You were already charged tax when you bought it. It is sold by Google Canada so you won't pay duty. It's the same if you buy from Amazon Canada.

I ordered a Nexus 7 from the Google Play store back in June. It shipped from the US. There wasn't any extra fees, taxes or customs, but it took longer than the advertised 2-3 business days. The origin was displayed in the tracking, and I was surprised to see that it shipped from the states. I don't recall which state, but I think it was Ohio. Google may have changed their shipping locations, and now have one in Canada, but I wouldn't be surprised if things are status quo from this past summer.

Just got off the phone with Google Play support (I dont think anyone calls them, I ALWAYS get to a CSA without any hold), they said it will ship from USA.

Does anyone know if UPS will hold undeliverable orders if requested, or something? I'm worried because I ordered on the 3rd, got 1-2 weeks shipping, and leave town (Toronto) for the holidays on December 22nd and won't be back until January 7th! So if it ships and arrives in the 2 week period I'm gone , I'm afraid it'll get sent back to Google and I'll have to wait until 2014 to get this device.. haha. The UPS where I had to pickup my Nexus 7 this summer is nearby so I could easily go ask them too..

Hmmm. Call UPS or talk to that store. I am sure they can figure something out.
DONT let it go back to Google. That would suck if you had to wait alll over again.
