Cannot adjust volume while on speakerphone

Is this a known problem? I was hoping mine would be fixed with Jan update. P6P and when I make a call on speakerphone, I cannot adjust the volume of the call; it stays at the highest volume. When on the call, I use the volume buttons, but they have no effect. I hit the three dots on the bottom and move all those sliders, but the volume remains at the loudest level. I booted in 'safe mode' as I saw that on one of the other discussions and that didn't help. Any suggestions? Thank you all.

I haven't heard about that one -- not happening on my 6 Pro. Are you typically connecting to any Bluetooth devices as well? I wonder if something there might be causing a glitch.

Mine does that if I have a Bluetooth device connected because I believe you are supposed to control the volume with that device. If no Bluetooth device, then my speaker volume works normally.

Thanks, guys, but no luck. I have my car and earpods connected but that wasn't the problem (and when I do this at work they're usually very far away). I first tried a speakerphone call with BT just turned off and no luck. Then I told the phone to 'forget' the phone and car and it still stays on the highest volume. So frustrating as I'm having a number of daily aggravations with this thing still that I thought would all be fixed with update. Orig Pixel and Pixel 3 were great, but this thing is a nightmare.

Hate to suggest it, but you might want to try a factory reset.

Have you tried clearing the cache of the "Phone" app? Might be worth a try.

Also, clear the cache partition if that's still a thing. I used to do that all the time on old Android phones but haven't really seen that suggested for these P6 or P6P devices.

I don't believe any Pixel has ever been able to do a cache partition wipe, since they've all used dual A/B partitions (which means no cache partition to wipe).
