I got a new phone case (just cover the back) and it has two pockets for cards. I noticed when I put a credit card, it won't charge. Does anyone has this problem? Is it bc it is too thick?

Any chance that the chip in the cc is causing interference?

Thanks.

It's certainly possible that the card is causing some kind of interference. A simple test would be to remove the card and then drop the phone on the wireless charger. If the phone charges without the card, then there's part of your answer. If not, then look elsewhere. It's doubtful that the chip itself is the culprit though.

I don't keep my cards that close to my phone (not even in the same pocket), and absolutely never near any kind of charging device. My phones have been screwing up cards in my pocket now for some time. Especially key cards and identification cards with security certificates. I've lost count of all the times that I've had to get a hotel or work key card reprogrammed because I wasn't paying attention to which pocket had what in it.

Two things: the max distance between the sending and receiving coils for QI is only a few mm, so even a thick case can cause problems. And if the credit card has a chip in it, the metal in the card may act as an additional barrier.
