So I installed the aospCMod this past Sunday, and I have not been able to send or receive picture messages, it does not matter which network the recipient or sender have, they just end up shown as sending but nothing gets sent, either on the stock messenger or handcent, this is a fresh install for this ROM, dalvik cache wiped, and when I was on stock with Xionia kernal, I had no issue, so does anyone have an idea how to fix it? I don't want to go back to my old rom, as this new rom is sweet, help guys? first time posting but long time reader, thanks for the help!

I'm using a stock phone, and yesterday this was an issue happening to many people, according to Virgin Mobile customer reps., they explained that people were calling in with the same problem. so it may not be the rom/phone, may just be a data/network problem. Today my phone has been able to send and receive pics, so theres my two cents...

I was also having the same problem..and i believe a day before also..seems to be working fine now..although were having some pretty serve weather and the service has just been knocked out

Yeah its odd, because I installed this new rom on Sunday night, and I'm also in Arizona btw, so the last 2 days there has been some Sprint issues, but its bad timing, I cannot send or receive MMS but I have only been trying it since these last 2 days, so maybe it is the network afterall?

yeah i doubt its the rom, i installed it 3 times now, and all of the installs were fresh installs where i wiped out everything, i'm in Arizona so maybe its affecting us over here, because Sprint has been spotty in my area as they upgrade to 4G and cause outages for anybody using their network.

I had this problem yesterday and today on aospCMOD 5-16-11. My friend could send me messages from the Bumblebee rom but I could not receive them (And he could not receive mine). I waited 5 'minutes installed goSMS and I got his message instantaneously, and I sent him a message and he got it...

Might be the stock messenger app.

i use handcent exclusively, but even on the stock messenger app, the same problem exists, no matter where i try to send a message, it does not get sent, its annoying, i'll be waiting for a couple days to confirm whether its sprint's network or the rom, id hate to go back to stock.

handcent was buggering up my messages.
I also couldnt receive them via stock or handcent.
installed gosms and bam five messages popped up.

dunno why or what.

I have not had MMS working for months now, friends say they get a rejection message when they send or failure to send. Apparently they do receive pics I send, and when I grabbed an old cellphone from a drawer I was able to send an MMS to my Optimus which I found weird.

It isn't even worth the hassle to call VM at this point, just have my friends text the pic to my email.

Combinations used:
stock messenger + stock phone= not working
Handcent + stock= not working
Handcent + Aphrodite ROM= not working
Handcent/Stock + Harmonia= not working
GoSms + harmonia/aphrodite= not working.

Have you checked your APN settings?

I had an issue with my APN settings from stock which wouldn't allow me to receive MMS messages, but the post in the link below fixed my problem, I just had to download AnyCut from the market:

I looked at my APN settings and it was blank, had no APN profiles at all. Before I tried making a new one I decided to try sending myself a picture from an old Verizon phone and it worked flawlessly in Handcent. For some reason I am thinking it has to do with the file size of the picture in the message and I don't know how to fix that.

Going to try your suggestion in the morning and have a friend send me a larger picture.
