Can't add contacts to People Edge since 5.1 update

Anyone else seeing this? 5.1 on TMO deleted the contacts from my People Edge and when I try to add them back, there's just one contact listed. The normal contact hub is populated as usual.
[Update - From further digging, it seems that only the Google account contacts are showing to add to People Edge now, certain that wasn't the case before]

Am I the only person seeing this then? Could anyone try quickly and see if they can add a contact that isn't in a Google account? I'd appreciate it...

Didnt see any change set up new contact in contacts and also from phone log no issues.

Appreciate your feedback, thanks. No idea what's going on with mine then. I've now factory reset it and it's the same. Seems like an intermittent bug then, not affecting everyone

Noha, as far as I can tell, the feature is just broken now. I've given up on the People Edge and just "hope" that it gets addressed with an update. Although I have added my 5 contacts to my google account, they are still not showing up. It's just broken...

Same issue for me, even after today's update. It seems to only offer my Google contacts, and not my Exchange account contacts, which is what I'd like it to do.

I have the same issue. It started with 5.1.1 update as far as I can tell. Last night I copied some contacts to the device itself and still no luck. I've seen in other forums some people found a workaround by making duplicate contacts on Google account, but I don't want to do that. I also noticed that mine showed one of my Facebook contacts with a phone number attached to his profile. I'm not sure why it singled out this one contact. I'm tired of digging.

Considering that this was one of the "signature" features of the Edge, it's puzzling that it's getting no attention from either Samsung or the carriers. As I said before, it's just disappointing...

I know it's a pain but:

1. I created a new Google contact with same name as my Exchange contact. I used a dummy phone number.

2. I set the new contact as one of my People Edge contacts.

3. I merged the two contacts; then edited the details to remove the dummy telephone number.

4. I now have my exchange contact as one of my people edge.

And for some reason this is not working for me. I don't use Google contacts at all, but I have created 4 Google contacts for my "edge" people as you suggest. None of them appear in the People Edge contacts. Although your method is a pain, it's only for 5 people so I'm perfectly willing to do the workaround, it just isn't working on my Edge...

Same problem here. I don't want to create duplicates as this defeats the whole point of using a central contacts store.
I want even aware you could still save contacts to a sim card. Seems like a rather 90's thing to do on a cutting edge smartphone.
