Can't change any app notification sound

Hi! All of a sudden, my Android phone won't let me change the notification sound for ANY of the apps on my phone, such as Facebook, Instagram, Etsy, etc. I go to Settings, click on Apps, go to the app I want, go to Notifications, and it absolutely will NOT let me choose a different alert sound, like I have been able to in the past. I used to be able to long press on Alert, but it doesn't do anything anymore. I can only choose the circle.
What am I missing???

what's the phone model number and the software version running?

i personally don't/haven't changed notification sounds for each apps in the past other than a few directly from the apps themselves, so I can't really tell you anything...

i would suggest you reproduce the issue (check that you aren't able to change the sound for them) then report to samsung using samsung members app > get help > error report and note that you used to be able to then the option isn't there anymore.
Maybe attach a screenshot as well.

Welcome to Android Central! In the Settings>Apps menu, make sure you're tapping the word for the notification category you want to change, not the toggle switch. That will probably bring up the next screen where you can modify the notification sound.
