Can't Change Yahoo! Mail Notifications

In the official Yahoo! Mail app, Yahoo recently changed the layout so that the Settings menu is no longer accessed by pressing the "Menu" button.

Launch the app and tap the little < arrow next to the "Inbox" label on the upper-left corner of the screen. This will reveal the Folders menu. Scroll it down to the "Tools" section, tap on Settings, then tap on Account settings option, and finally on Notification Settings. From here you can set up the notification options for new messages:
?Choose Sound -> No sound -> Done to disable audible notifications,
?Use Vibrate to toggle vibration on and off,
?Show in Status Bar to toggle the icon in your Notification panel.

You are a little late to the party. We have all tried this already. I have a Galaxy Nexus and a Nexus 10 that will not auto sync and send notifications no matter the settings. Both devices are bone stock.

I finally found out how to solve this. I had already disabled Yahoo mail notifications in Applications Manager on my Samsung 4S. I had also clicked on the Yahoo mail icon and disabled notifications there but they kept coming. Finally I clicked on the actual mail notification in the Notifications bar on my phone and it opened up a different Bizarro version of Yahoo mail. I found the settings and again disabled notifications and this time it worked. I cannot tell you exactly where the notification settings place is in the Bizarro Yahoo mail because it has never reappeared. You can figure that part out.

Open the Yahoo Mail app and scroll down the list (Inbox, Sent, Trash, etc.). At the bottom of the list (3rd from the bottom) open Mail Settings and you'll see lots of notification options. I have two mailboxes and it gave me the ability to select different options for each.
