Can't click on a phone number sent via text to call it

I'm using a Samsung S7

Basically when someone sends me a mobile number, it comes out as normal text message but if someone sends me a number in this format +(country code)(area code)(number) then it's possible for me to click on that number and call it.

If it's sent as xxx-xx-xx it just comes out as a normal text message (i.e. without underscore)
