Relax :). He was saying he hates Touchwiz .. so go with the Nexus 6. The OP was asking for his opinion and he gave it. He never mentioned that everyone hates it ... No need to go super defensive :).

The topic is about being unable to decide between the Note 4 / Nexus 6 -- Some people may pick the Nexus 6 due to hating Touchwiz. Remember -- Not everyone is going to share your opinion / choice and that is okay .. No reason to harp on them for having a different one than you :).

Yes but if the op hates touch wiz he wouldn't even consider a note 4 thus I would assume he has no issue with it or planning on using a different launcher.

The OP made some complaints about Touchwiz. My main point was there is no reason to get onto someone when they're just sharing their opinion. The OP made claims about Touchwiz lag and other things he didn't like about the Note 4. That person was simply stating they hate Touchwiz so he obviously would go with the Nexus 6 in this discussion. He didn't claim everyone hates it .. he was just stating his opinion and shouldn't be harped on for it.

Yeah ....I tend to simply because I bet the majority hate touch wiz because it's cool thing to do these days just like hating on iPhones and iPads. Touch wiz is fine now pretty much on the note 4 with the exception of the Verizon model which I I assume has to do with their software version which I find quite confusing as well

Also I don't put much stock in complaints like simple ones like "I hate touch wiz "

I'm new to TW and I also hate it. It's sad that a new comer to Samsung from iPhone had to make this change within a few days of having the device in hand. Now I'm running Nova Prime and it's better, but the fact that I know that TW is still in my device is irritating. I wish I could just get a clean Android experience without the extra garbage. S-Pen or no S-Pen - I'm making the switch to the N6.

Closingracer - I hate Touchwiz but I've still owned the Note 2, 3, and 4. They haven't exactly had much competition until recently when it comes to screen size and hardware so Touchwiz was a necessary evil. Maybe you should stop assuming you know everything about everyone and maybe you should stop being so confrontational to everyone that says they hate Touchwiz or that says they have lag on their Note device. You have a habit of getting defensive every time a poster gives their opinion of the Note 4 and that opinion doesn't match your own.

Now, since you asked, why I hate Touchwiz...

1. I don't care about the motion gestures and I turn them off, but the software still takes up space.

2. I don't like the launcher and I use alternatives, but again, it still takes up space.

3. I hate the settings menu.

4. I hate the notifications slide.

5. I hate the aesthetic changes to everything when none of those changes are necessary. I further hate that unless you use a custom ROM you're stuck with them because the launcher itself is a minor part.

I would have far less of a problem with Touchwiz if it didn't change every damned thing on the device, especially now that Android itself has come so far. Touchwiz was originally Samsungs answer to the bare bones nature of early Android so they could better compete with the iPhone. So much, in fact, that Apple sued them over it. Now it is just a lot of unnecessary bloat... Why can't they just add the S Pen and multi window functions while leaving the launcher alone? Why can't they leave the notification slide alone? Why do they have to reskin every core app? Why redo the entire settings menu?

Samsung is supposedly starting from scratch with the upcoming S6, why do you think that is?

You hate touch wiz that's fine ....because you said why ....I would say 90% of the people who hate touch wiz either hate it based off s2 /0s3 or s4 phones, iPhone users who hate android because their fanboys or android snobs who hate it the same reason they hate an iPad or iPhone ...,because it's cool. Touch wiz settings menu is 10 times better then stock imo and I actually like they show me battery percentage without me pulling down a menu for it.

And who says they are ? It's a rumor which for now just that ...with no base to hold it to

I would switch to the nexus 6 in a heartbeat if it actually was coming to Verizon stores and had the same camera quality as the note 4 which I doubt.

I like touch wiz but I'll take vanilla with a big screen and good camera, turbo was good but screen was a bit small and bad camera

That's my dilemma. Was able to place a N6 order, so I'll have a few weeks to compare with my Note 4.

Might just order it at t-mobile since I do have a plan with them still and put in my iPad SIM card and see if it works lol

It is threads like these that make me dislike Google a little bit. We are all bored and anxious waiting for the phone to drop and it leads to this. If they would have just announced the phone and dropped already we would be focused on the Nexus 6 because we would be playing with it and know what all it could do. Sorry just trying to inject some lite heartedness into the wait!!!!!

If you paid someone to design the worst possible strategy to introduce a new flagship phone, they couldn't do as good (bad) a job as Google has done.

If I had to choose between the two I would go with the Nexus. I may be biased. I have a 2013 MotoX and my 2014 MotoX arrives tomorrow. I am a big fan of Motorola hardware and build quality. I also love their approach to Android and the fact that I won't have to wait forever to get an Android update.
From what I have read the Nexus 6 is like holding an oversized MotoX and that is a good thing right off the bat. Who knows, maybe after a while I may switch from my MotoX to the Nexus 6. It would be awesome if I were able to customize it.

A bad camera is a good thing ? Hopefully the camera is decent and Gets in Verizon

Is your iPad SIM also with Verizon? If so, could you please report back if it works in a T-Mobile-issued Nexus 6? I'm looking to use my UDP data-only VZ sim in a Nexus 6, and have heard mixed reports as to whether or not data will work in a non-whitelisted device (alongside consistent reports that voice will certainly not).

It probably won't but since it's my only nano aim I figure why not. Easier then cutting up my micro sim for my note 4 and finding out it won't work lol

As is always important, we need to consider the usual factors that play a key role in experience - Screen, Camera, Battery Life. Which one is best in which area? And how so - is it close or a clear victory? To a lesser extent, speaker quality, build quality, storage, price, etc... You really need to prioritze what's important to you.

One thing I feel people often undersell is the fact that it's a Nexus. That means a LOT to some people; so much so that I suspect many Nexus 6 buyers would take the even the "dated" Nexus 5 over the Note 4. Hardware exists solely to power the user experience. All the hardware in the world won't get you to like (the admittedly still bad but improving) Touchwiz.

To further stir the pot, I think Touchwiz stands to get better over the next couple of years - a period in which, most likely, the Note 4 will continue to receive updates. Yeah, you'll miss out on the 64-bit train, but by the time you jump into it in two years, it'll be rolling full-steam ahead as opposed to starting off slowly. The lollipop preview Touchwiz already looks nicer than what currently exists. And with the way that Samsung is reportedly moving ("starting over" with the S6), it stands to reason that the software will be changing too - most likely for the better. There's no doubt that the improved GS 6 (or whatever it's called) and eventual Note 5 software will trickle down to the Note 4. And on the flip-side, if you're somebody who values the S-Pen, no phone can really replace a Note.

So overall, I think this comparison is not as clear-cut is some think it ought to be. Really, just do whatever the @&%@# you wanna do... You can't go wrong either way in this day and age. I think the future is looking bright with Android - so bright you need to wear shades...

I currently have the Note 4 and I still am in my 14 day return window. I have had almost every iPhone except the 5S(I had the iPhone 6 Plus) and this has been my first android phone. The Note 4 is very good device but it is not perfect. The Note 4 has noticeable lag, doesn't take very good low light photos, and the build quality is not so good even though it now has metal. I was lucky enough to get an order through Motorola for a Nexus 6 but I'm a bit concerned whether ill regret jumping to the Nexus 6 and returning the Note 4. Will the photos from the Nexus 6 be as good as the Note 4? Will the screen for the Nexus 6 be as good as the Note 4? I feel like just keeping both phones but that sounds a bit crazy... Any help will be much appreciated!!
I question some combination of the time you spent with the phone, your experience with working with phones, or the actual phone itself.

The lag "issue" on the Note 4 is pretty much a myth. Some people think that it lags, most say no.

It has one of the best low light cameras available on the market. I'm getting shots with this phone that used to only be possible if I used my DSLR.

If you don't like it and really want the Nexus 6, go for it. I certainly don't have a problem with it.

But don't label the Note 4 with issues it doesn't have.

Good luck with your Nexus 6, I hope it lives up to the hype for you.
