Can't decide, need input from N6 owners please.

I got a Nexus 6 back in December because I wanted a phone with a bigger screen than my One M8 but I didn't want the Note, and I hadn't heard the greatest things about the G3 (like the screen sharpening and the overheating). If I hadn't gotten the Nexus 6 then, I probably would have gotten the G4 now since it has all that I'm looking for. But since I did get the Nexus, I've definitely learned to really appreciate the lack of bloat on the phone (for better or worse... Some manufacturer added apps are useful).

So I don't blame you for having this debate. But with that said, I got my wife the G4 and while part of me has the new phone itch and I have an available JUMP upgrade, I'm not going to use it to get the G4. Camera is tempting and it seems to fit my hands a bit better, but I really like my Nexus. Playing with the phone I do like it but it's not enough to sway me. Not yet anyway :-D

I also haven't had any issues with my Nexus in the time I've had it. It's been a champ.

This is simply bullsh1t. My previous 3 phones had better battery life (Nexus 5, Moto X 2013, and OnePlus One), in fact OPO has the same size battery, 5.5'' screen and it lasted about 60% longer then my Nexus 6

N6 screen on time is about 3.5-4.5 hours
N5 about 5 hours
Moto X about 6 hours
And OnePlus One about 7 hours

Nexus 6 is the only phone that drains all the way to 5-10% by the end of my day without much of heavy use

I'm on Verizon so I only had the moto X which was a 4.7 inch 720p phone which maybe had slightly longer battery life. The nexus 5 was known as one of the best for battery and the opo which barely anyone has. My point was that the nexus 6 is better on battery than the s6 g4 and most other smartphones your post stated it was one of the worst which is clearly not true. The poster was asking for a real world assessment.

Your Nexus 5 got better battery life than your Nexus 6?

Hello, I am up in the air about buying an N6 or LG G4. Have had every nexus phone but the N4, didn't like the glass back. Sold my N5 about 6 months ago and have been using an AT&T Motorola Moto X since. But still like the Nexus platform. Keep reading horror stories of these phones bending, poor signal strength, mediocre screens, and backs separating from the phone. Are these real widespread problems or rare occurrences? Thanks for any input.

I have the Nexus and it's a good phone.
Without pure Android updates it loses it's edge.
I would go for the LG.
Good Luck

Its somewhat not right that OPO with same battery lasts 60% longer and N6 screen size is only 0.5'' more thats used by navigation bar anyway.

Edit: OPO battery is 3100 and Nexus 6 is 3220

So N6 should have 6-7 hours of screen time easy if power was managed right. If its the screen technology that drains it, then why use it at all. 1080p is more then enough

Well after a month of researching and questioning everything, I found a good deal locally on a 2 month old Google unlocked 64Gb N6, the worst thing if it isn't what I'm expecting, I can sell it on eBay, the worst maybe I'll lose $50. But I'm really looking forward to getting the N6 next week, have to wait till the person I sold my oneplus one pays me at work.

I find it hard to believe people think 4.5 hours of screen on time is not enough. Early days of android I was lucky to get 1.5 hours of screen on time. I'm super satisfied with the nexus 6 battery life. Especially with the turbo charger. I never have battery worries.

100 percent agree

I just dropped my Note 4 for a Nexus 6 and with all honesty cannot be happier. The battery is not as good but good enough to last all day. It's just such a good experience though. Everything just works smoothly. No lag no stutters no bloatware.

Did that a little over a week. Love stock android.

OK... I got my 32G model shortly after launch in November. Thing has been rock solid reliable the entire time. No back popping off, no reception or data issues... nothing

Battery... my GSAM stats will say that I pretty much average 4.5 hours a full charge. Which is, I guess, somewhat accurate, only for the fact that I rarely am on the phone for more than 4.5 hours a day. I actually can get in the mid 5's..... and if I just churn and burn, I'll get to 6 hours before it gets to empty. This is a one-a-day charge... it'll charge up FAST in the morning while I get ready and it could, if I needed to, get me until the following morning. ZERO complaints about the battery performance.

Screen. Just about the only shortcoming it has is the brightness.... outside in the sun, it's pretty dim. But that is pretty much it. Yes, you'll hear stuff about the color calibration and all. Frankly, its a bit overblown. Yes, they skewed the colors a bit on the warm side, but this is a software thing and you can fix it if you really wanted to (custom kernel with color adjustments). But even so, the screen is nice.

Oh... burn in... when the Nexus 6 came out, a well known Youtube reviewer ranted on about how the screen burned in.... I've had this thing for 7 solid months. If I open up Chrome, put a white background and hold it in landscape mode... and I play with the brightness, I think I can see the most faintest little blip where my navigation bar and icons are.... maybe I'm seeing things.... dunno...

Either way, yeah... the screen burn in isn't an issue.

Overall, I'm extremely impressed with this phone. Smooth, responsive, fast and capable.

Thank you for your input on the phone, much appreciated.

I've had the Nexus 6 since Dec 31, love , love this device , only issue I've had was with the messenger app. For me it was very buggy, with others they've had zero issues with that, others have. I now use Textra and that problem is solved .

I know one thing for sure , this is the best phone I have ever had , I treasure it. I can't see me going back to a smaller size phone , not sure how that will work in the future as the next Nexus likely will be smaller ??

Hard to say how accurate they are... but the current rumors are that we'll see two Nexus devices; a 5.1" phone (LG possible) and a 5.7" one (Huawei).

I'm in the same boat... I've REALLY come to prefer the 6" screen, so going backwards, even .3"....

We'll see.

Exactly. I've started carrying the turbo charger in my backpack, which is always with me already anyway, and battery issues have vanished. Low on charge? Plug it in and 15 minutes later, I'm at 50%+

Love that charger. It's given me juice right when I need it, and low on time.

Just got my N6 replaced for screen flicker issue and this new screen is completely different from previous (QA with Nexus phone is crap as always). Previous screen was pink at low brightness (funny that many people said its a feature), well this screen doesn't have any pink at all but color temperature is someone uneven from top to bottom. I wonder if 3rd one is the winner or just keep this.....
