Can't find all WhatsApp media after factory reset

[Android Central Question]

My Xiaomi mi max was freezing so I did a factory reset. I had a backup for WhatsApp but couldn't restore it after several tries. However, the first time I reinstalled WhatsApp, I lost only the chats but all the pictures and videos were restored to my gallery (not seen in WhatsApp media). I uninstalled and reinstalled again in hopes of getting my chats from backup only to lose all pictures and videos even in the gallery. The only pictures and videos in my gallery now are those originally taken by me from previous phones.

What can I do to get the WhatsApp pictures and videos back please? I already gave up on the chats...

Backup is in Google drive , did you sign into it with your same account ?
