Can't get gear notifications via my Tmobile note 2 4.3

So I just purchased the gear yesterday, looks great. For some reason, I can not get any notifications on my gear even though they are checked and I have reset everything twice. My current version is v7000xxuamii.

You will need the MK7 update! I have the note 3, live on the east coast and did not receive the update. Samsung does not care about the US.

Thanks for the reply. I also live in the east coast, Philadelphia to be exact. Is there a way to get the MK 7 update without waiting for Samsung? I read through some of the threads here, something about Odin, a version that is from the UK, and apparently you can do so much more with that version.
