Can't get nearby sharing to connect

I have 3 Android Devices, fairly recent; a Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2017), a Galaxy Tab S6 Lite and a Samsung S9+. I have turned on everything I know about: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Location and Nearby Sharing. I can't get any of them to see each other. Did I miss something?

Hmm. I just tested it on my Pixel 3 XL, and it can't find any nearby device either, even though my wife's Pixel 5 is sitting right next to it. But if I try to do the reverse (i.e., share a file from her Pixel 5), the notification pops up immediately on my 3 XL. I wondered if it might have to do with a Google Play system bug, because my 3 XL is still stuck on April, while hers is on May (https://www.howtogeek.com/686927/wh...em-updates-on-android-and-are-they-important/). When I tried to check for updates on my 3 XL, I got this:

I've never seen that before.:-\ So I'll have to wait until they fix that server issue, then update my 3 XL, and then see if the problem persists. In the meantime, check to see if your Google Play system updates are current through May -- if not, that might be the problem.
