Cant get Nokia 7 Plus out of download mode

hey, so the strangest thing happened last night. We were watching movie on the tele. Nokia was on the table with screen up. It went from being normal to download mode on its own.
Now whatever i do, hold the volume up and power, or connect it to pc. I cant get it out of download mode. read alot of posts on the web of how to get out but nothing works anymore.
Even waited for the battery would run out, when i tried charging it. it was still in download mode.
Download mode, is white background screen. with big android one logo in the middle and says download mode on the top left.

The phone has been used 1 year, and have been cared for. so really dont know how its possible for a phone to do something like this on its own. my guess would be that it tried updating and the battery runned out and its bricked now.
But im pretty sure that it was around 50% battery.

any thoughts and tips?

My father's Nokia 6.1 faced the same issue. I realize this is an old post but should anyone find anything any info is appreciated (Had to send it back so the issue no longer exists but I felt bad buying him a bum phone and would certainly like to know what happened for others.)
