Can't get past Instructions Window.

Hello, My son has loaded Ingress on his Samsung Galaxy Y. When he runs it there's a yellow instructions window on the lower 2/3 screen "This is the scanner map view. The triangle represents your location in the..." We can't remove that window to get to the map underneath. The comm tab opens the com window and conversations are working. All/Faction/Alerts all working.
Any help appreciated.

May be too small of a screen for that app.

because the app is not not compatible with galaxy y screen.
