Can't hear phone ring, nor hear other party

I have Razr Maxx HD. 4.4.2.
Early this morning, and now into mid-morning, I couldn't hear a ringtone after dialing and, if a person had answered, I couldn't tell. I can text. So, they could let me know they got a call and could hear me, though I couldn't/can't hear them.
I have made sure "voice privacy" is off.
I know this phone is on its last leg. I just need to make calls until my new phone gets here.
Will be glad for some help.
Please excuse if this is a repeat thread. I couldn't find help in the forum.

Welcome to Android Central! It's possible the earpiece speaker is faulty. Can you hear the other person if you use wired or Bluetooth headphones?
