I started a new job and decided to do all of my personal screwing around on the internet on my Nexus 7 using my employer's free public wifi access instead of my terminal at my desk.
When I connect to the internet, I connect to the network and then open a browser window. Instead of my home page, it comes up with their login page that requires that I check a box and agree to their policy before bring given full access to the Internet. First thing in the morning, this Window opens and I am able to connect.
The tablet stays connected all morning, but if I take it with me to lunch and go out of range, I am unable to reconnect when I get back. I can connect to the network (strong grey connection symbol at top of screen), but the permission Window does not appear as it does in the morning and the connection icon does not turn blue. It is as if the tablet thinks it still has permission even though it does not, so it doesn't try to get it from the network.
I have fiddled with the wifi settings, and even though I can "forget" the wifi network, it doesn't really seem to forget anything.
In contrast, my (forgive me) iPhone will connect to the network just the same way, but each time I turn the phone on after it has been idle, the login page pops up and I am able to connect.
Hope this makes sense and thanks in advance for any help any of you can offer. I do not feel comfortable asking the IT department staff because I want to keep my internet use on my break times private.
