So I screwed up. I awoke to the 4.1.2 when they first rolled out and in a morning haze, proceeded with the update. I now want to root again but motochopper doesn't seem to be doing it. Is there another root I should be using?

When launching SuperSU, I am greeted with the "there is no su binary installed" message.

I have no idea about the binaries issue, but I accidentally updated my SmartActions app, thus closing the exploit to root 4.1.2 on the Maxx.
Because it's a system app now, and without root I was unable to uninstall it back to the root-able version. This worked for me after tinkering with it:
Use RAZR Blade on your PC and unzip what you need, go in to your apps from the system menu and open SmartActions, clear cache/data, disable then go to the Play Store and then find SmartActions - hit Enable and immediately move on to using RAZR Blade. That had me rooted in no time! Good luck.
