can't root!

I tried just about everything I just got a phone replacement phone from virgin and I cannot root. I open super one click and it hangs at "running psneuter... failed" I tried gingersnap 1.21 and the newest SOC and all stop at psn,rage, or gingersnap. I know how to root I just think virgin blocked it somehow.
Any ideas?

Just out of curiosity, what is the software version listed in the phone's settings>phone info section? I'm curious as to whether they've done an update or not.

Gingerbreak did the trick, the Fe was updated to 2.2.2 so expect the triumph with it and gingerbread will most likely work
