Can't see pictures in posts

I am humiliated to be asking a question this simple, but on my phone and on my computer I can not see pictures in photo threads. For example, the Show Us Your Home Screen thread in the Note 5 forum. My phone is a Samsung Note 3, and I am trying on both Chrome and the Android Central app. Same result: a placeholder graphic that never fills in.

Also, I'm on wifi with plenty of bandwidth. Every other site I visit loads graphics just fine, so I'm guessing that it's some simple forum setting I'm missing.

I'm used to being an *****, so I won't be shocked to discover that this is the case once again, but I'd really like to see the pictures!

Does this happen on any wi-fi network, or just one? If it's a work network, there might be a firewall for certain kinds of sites.

Would you be able to post a screenshot or two of what you're seeing (or not seeing ). If you could take one from Chrome, and another from the Android Central app, that'd be great. Thanks!

Okay, this is insanity. Following up on B. Diddy's clue, I thought welp, I have no idea what's happening with wifi -- I run a web community for a living (all the more reason this is yoo-miliating), and visit all kinds of graphics-heavy websites (tumblr, etc) with no issues -- so lemme try on mobile data.

Boom! All the pictures are there in the app. Switch back to wifi, they're still there! It's like magic. Strangely, the pictures are now visible on Chrome desktop (Windows).
