Can't send emails from Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

[AC Question]

After over a year of using this tablet to send and receive emails successfully using gmail account, suddenly I started getting errors when trying to SEND emails. I receive emails fine. I tried deleting the email account and re-adding. That worked for about a week, then got the same problem again. Deleted and re-added email account again, new messages popped in, but when I tried to send an email I got the unanable to send messag again. Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.
