I sold my 6P on SWAPPA and neglected to factory reset with my sim card still in.

Now the buyer can set it up because it's locked.

Any other way around this issue without having to give him my Google log in info?

Thanks

Having the SIM card in or not makes no difference. You needed to reset the device through the Settings menu, possibly after removing your Google account(s) from the device before doing so. Any other reset will result in the FRP lock and being where you are now. The only way around it is to either provide the buyer your account info or have them ship it to you, properly reset it and you ship it back.

FYI, this is posted in Swappa's FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/clear_personal_data_device?ref=mobilenations&data1=UUacUvbUpU5835906

Thanks. That's what I thought. I sold 2 phones the same day, both arrived to buyers today. One has responded he couldn't set it up, haven't heard from the other yet. I screwed up the factory reset for both phones the same way.

If I provide account info both have to have the same exact gmail and password? In other words I couldn't call one one day with my gmail and password while they fixed the issue then reset the password and call the other later and provide a different password?

Hope this makes sense

If you reset the account password there is a 24-hour waiting period before it can be used to sign in to a factory reset device.

Couldn't the new owner do a factory reset from the boot loader/recovery and activate with their account after the factory reset?
