I got the newest CM7 up and running and everything restored, but I can't get the IMAP email setup. I have NO issues on all other ROMs, but this just won't take it I either get "unable to open connection to server" or "incorrect username and password" (which I know is not accurate)

ANY help would be awesome!!

That doesn't seem to be working for me. Here is what I normally have to enter

User Name
Password
IMAP: imap.secureserver.net
ssl
993

When I enter what you have stated above, I INSTANTLY get "unable to open server connection" Normally, it sits and tries to connect, but not now.

These are the official instruction from yahoo:

To set up IMAP on your mobile device please use these settings:

Incoming Server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing Server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Incoming Port - 993 (requires SSL)
Outgoing Port - 465 (requires SSL/TLS)
Username: full email address (for example, bill@yahoo.com or bill@rocketmail.com)
Password: the password you login to Yahoo! with.

I have also tried these and they have worked too:

Incoming IMAP Mail ServerSetting :
User Name : user@yahoo.com
Password : your email password
Incoming Mail Server : imap.n.mail.yahoo.com
Mail Box Name : Yahoo IMAP
Mail Box Type : IMAP
Security (Port) : Off
Port : Default (143)

Outgoing IMAP Mail ServerSetting :
Email Address : user@yahoo.com
User Name : user@yahoo.com
Password : your email password
Outgoing Mail Server : smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
Security (Port) : Off
Port : 587

I actually ended up downloading K9 email and setting it up through that. I used the same settings on K9 and it fired right up, I believe this is a glitch with CM7, hopefully they get it fixed. But, this K9 email works really well, so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

lol, this was actually my post in a different thread. Good use of copy and paste though i guess.

Anyways, the method below is for a yahoo account. This wouldn't work for a custom domain. I don't know what the servers would be etc. Hope you find your answer!

I used the standard 'Email' app and added a gmail account as imap with no problems last night. Strange yours wouldn't connect if K9 connects just fine.

I am getting the same thing when I try to use my own server (Mac OS X Server). It is an IMAP server so, it should work, right? Well, I used the standard settings on Entourage and on the Mac Mail application and it works fine. I used it on the "native" CM7 (RC2) email client and it gives me the immediate error that the username and password is incorrect. I can set it up in the MAILDROID app with no problem at all; just a problem with the native app. Has anyone seen or found a work around that might be specific to this ROM?

Did you try letting it auto detect? I was having problems using the manual IMAP settings for my Yahoo mail in the CM7 ROM. I tried just entering in my email address and password and it went out there and auto configured. This use to never work before, so I'm not sure what changed. Might be worth a shot...
