Cant sign into Gmail or YouTube on nexus 7.

Just had same issue, and can confirm gray vs blue issue. I logged into my home wireless network, got grey bars, could not log in. Opened up a hotspot from my phone, got blue bars, logged in fine.

No idea why home (WPA2-PSK [AES]) wouldn't work.

Ok so I have the same problem with my nexus 7, it won't let me connect to Google services, Gmail, keep, play, even in app purchases. But my connection works fine with the browser and netflix related activities. This is ticking me off because it happened to me before and it fixed itself but now it is just being ridiculous!

you cant sign in because the wifi bars are grey.

I updated to 4.3 jellybean and the gray wi fi icon is turned to blue
