Can't switch to android at the moment, what the best options?

The 4 was the last model I had and it had it. It was IOS 5 I think.

To answer your question about the 1520, I love it. It is big, fast and smooth.

I may have to try the1520 though I told myself Windows Phone wasn't worth the effort with Android and iOS available. I guess I need to give it a shot.

But will I be impressed by Windows Phone OS? That, that is the question.

Lumia: great hardware, immature & buggy OS.

So to answer your question; you might be impressed by WP, but it's more likely you won't be.

I completely disagree. I've owned 4 WP devices. I've never seen any bugginess. I've seen more bugs in Android. As for maturity, most of the big apps are now on WP.

WP provides a great smartphone experience. I'm a smartphone junkie and I'm selling my LG G2 and keeping the 1520. I returned a Note 3 to get the G2 so I've used most of the current flagships. I'll take the 1520 over the rest.

You do understand that what you've stated by your own admission makes you guilty of crimes against Lloyd. Crimes against Android and all she's given you. Heresy! Disloyal Heretic! You...I can barely say it...you...you...are going to SELL a G2 in favor of the1520? Android has given you Power. Stability. Customability. ROMs. Upgrades. Fonts. Your choice of hardware. A place to call your own! ...and you... You are going to spit it back it her face in favor of the next cutie to come wiggling her screen your way. Heresy. Heresy I say! Oh...oh you can play on the other side. Many do. Yes many do but, but you're talking of selling... selling your G2 in favor of WP! Heresy! Heresy I say! 5 days with an iPhone for you!

Just kidding...that was fun. :-)

Based on this signature, you must have an iPad as well. No matter your opinions, we certainly can't accuse you of not trying them all!

I've been WP curious myself but stayed away but the 1520...it calls to me. Its been calling to me. Its witchcraft, some type of voodoo or dark magic.

iTunes is never ok. I just had an incident this weekend with my wife's ipad. I wish there could have been an apple software engineer sitting beside me so I could have shown him/her exactly how incompetent they are.

The iTunes (and now iCloud) backup system is far and away a better solution than Googles.

This is absolutely wrong. It's been attested to by people who've used both that exactly the opposite of what you've stated is the truth. The Nexus 5 is the better phone, and yes, at half the price.

Try The Thank You Button, Thank You!

I haven't just used both, I OWN both and switch between them regularly. Besides some hardware issues with the nexus, I like it. But it isn't in the same class as the 5s. It has a worse screen, worse camera, and worse battery life, not to mention the build quality. In all of those areas, the nexus is just 'good enough'. Nothing kind blowing, and certainly not better than the iPhone. It is very good for what it is, but it isn't better than the iPhone.

You've been through 3 of them at least (N5s), I'd argue your experience has been atypical of the vast majority's. There's always something "wrong" with it in your opinion that others are not seeing.

I bought the original WiFi only iPad on the Monday after it came out on a Friday. I gave it to one of my daughters when I got a Samsung 7.0 Plus tab for Christmas in 2011. This year she got an iPad Mini w/Retina Display so I got my old iPad back. I had given the Samsung 7.0 Plus to another daughter when I got the Nexus 7. She also got an iPad mini for Christmas so my wife now has the 7.0 Plus.

LOL!

It has four times the pixels and a significantly higher PPI, despite a physically larger screen area. Oh, and you can read it in direct sunlight as well.

worse camera
Thats debatable. (Nexus is on the bottom)

That was before the update that "fixed" the Nexus camera...it is even better now.

This sums it up perfectly.

I've used the big 3 and played around with WP8 in a store (WP8 is tiny in Canada so I don't know anyone who actually owns one). They all basically work well and get the job done. I don't think there really is a bad modern smartphone out there IMHO.

To put it another way, there are a lot of car companies out there, and they all make pretty decent cars. Each car has its own experience, and it will vary from one user to another based on what they value the most.

So, I came back to this thread after some time a noticed that it's been hijacked by three different users having a argument. And out if 5 pages and 118 posts there is very little relevant advice on my OP.

So thanks to this of you who did try and answer my question , as opposed to those who used this thread merely as a way to have a flame war and argument
